Abstract

This article is the result of a Stricto sensu research that discussed the perceptions of a Racial Contract in the educational trajectory of blacks in Brazil. Guided by the methodological aspects that underpinned the research, the article aims to reflect on the challengs for the experience of an anti-racist education, as well as debating the importance of this education for the development of a more humanized society. Throughout three thematic sections, the article presents and problematizes the conceptions of Racial Contract and black representativeness, highlighting them as challenging structures for anti-racist education. In addition, it presents life stories of a child of enslaved people, with the intention of exemplifying why an anti-racist education needs to provoke a conscious awakening about the trajectory of black populations and "paving" a present and a future with conditions for overcoming the structural racism that exists in our Society. The opposition to racism suggests an anti-racist education, but this education cannot disregard the structures that safeguard devices with the potential for the continuity of racist thoughts and behaviors that involve and lead human relations.
