Abstract
The Instituto de Pesquisas e Estudos Afro-Brasileiros (IPEAFRO) is a free public collection whose mission is to value African and Afro-Brazilian history, memory and cultures. In this sense, the aim is to reflect on the anti-racist education promoted by IPEAFRO, giving visibility to the institute's collection. This aim is linked to the question: how does IPEAFRO promote anti-racist education? IPEAFRO's analysis is expected to create a new history of black people in Brazilian education, especially by highlighting Abdias Nascimento's trajectory and legacy in the struggles against racism throughout the 20th century, expressed in the various documents in the collection. Finally, we hope to contribute to the dissemination of the collection and serve as an ally for the teaching of African and Afro-Brazilian histories and cultures.
